How effectively choose your electrical inverter

How effectively choose your electrical inverter

In our country there are several cities suffering with occasional or regular power outage. This makes life miserable in the current electronics era. Particularly in the hot summer season it's tough to survive while electric cut. Therefore the requirement of inverters has become a necessity than a luxury with these regular low power supplies. Inverters are wide employed in households to run all home appliances together with televisions, lights, air conditioners, refrigerators, computers, etc. The advantage of  inverter is that it doesn’t consume an excessive amount of  electricity . The opposite trades like business companies, industries, schools, colleges, company offices, malls, shops, theatres and stadiums would like inverters on the next scale as their requirement..The most common brands for the inverters in market are Sukam inverters, Luminous inverters  and many other.

Efficiency of Inverters:

 Inverters are extremely economical because it will save your electricity.. They're extremely value effective for those trying to use them for high AC voltage.. They also provide a backup during power cut. .

The efficiency measurement = Power Out/ Power In %

During efficiency measurement of power conversion devices the input power and output power should measure live at the same time. If the device we are testing   is  a three-phase unit then 2 power analyzers should be connected, one at the input and one at the output. For single part UPS systems it you can   use one meter however attention should be paid to a standard reference or neutral conductor. For AC to DC  efficiency  testing 2 meters should always be used for single or 3 part AC inputs since the + and – terminals of the DC  inverter  will and should be separated from the AC input conductors.

To get a correct computation of efficiency every “Watts IN” and “Watts OUT” values should be taken at simultaneously..

Inverter fabric you’re Needs:

Now a day’s power cut is   quite common in several cities of India. On a hot day during summer season, when there is power cut, we begin packing up and down. Therefore with frequent power cuts,  an  inverter has become a necessity than a luxury in most homes. And therefore the choosing the correct   inverter for your home has become a tricky task in current days. There are  several terms that we  do not aware like  tabular  battery, flat battery, 1400VA, 850VA, 100 VA, Watt-hours, Amp-Hours, Full load, half load. Thus these terms create a doubt what’s correct for our home .I'm sharing the main points which may assist you when you are shopping for an inverter. .

Firstly set your would like you wish a UPS or INVERTER?

                           UPS                                                                                 INVERTER

This question creates confusion, thus here I will differentiate on UPS and Inverter. UPS stands for "Uninterrupted Power Supply". Suggests that it transfers power interrupts to battery in fraction of milliseconds, and do not let get the pc off.  Inverter is simply converts the DC Voltage into AC power, employed in home appliances to provide power backups. However it transfers power backup to battery backup late comparison to UPS. You can't use it for computer, if use it for computer, it will restart automatically during a moment. However Inverter comes with additional powerful battery and offer support for electrical equipments, computers, home appliances etc. and also offers additional hours of back-up. Most of the inverters come with in-built UPS that ensures that power outage does not cause fluctuation and your system switches instantly to Inverter's Power Backup battery.

Capacity of Inverter need for Your Home:

When you certain you are looking for an inverter then first calculate the capability of inverter according to your demand. Below is the list of appliances with their power consumed.

      1. Fan

                               Ceiling           65–175 watt

                               Window        55–250 watt

                                Furnace         750   watt

      2.  Laptop computer   50 watt

      3. Televisions (color)

             19" = 65–110 watt

             27" = 113 watt

             36" = 133 watt

             53" - 61" Projection = a hundred and seventy watt

             Flat screen = a hundred and twenty watt

       4. CFL – twenty five watt

      5. Tube lightweight – sixty watt

Calculating your power requirement: Here you will calculate capability of inverter according to your need. For instance you would like electrical converter to run three Tube lights, 2 Fans, 1TV, 2CFL and one laptop computer. As per the table, you'll have a complete power of 540W (=3X60 +2X65 + 1X120 + 1X50+2X25) to support all of your equipments at a similar time.
  Your Total Power requirement = 540W
The higher capability battery you've got, the additional back-up hours you will get. Thus let’s get into the calculation .And   focus on these points when shopping for inverter.
Durability of inverter:
When you are shopping inverter then check all terms whether it meet the relevant Indian or International standard.  And also check manufacturing date.  Ensure that you are not purchasing an old model.
Warranty of Inverter:
Before purchasing Inverter first check the warranty period .Inverters in India vary from three to twelve years of warranty as per the brand . Average amount of warranty for inverters in India is seven years.
Display of Inverter:
In inverters most grids connected have display lights. They’re indicating whether or not the unit is on, off or in standby and indicate any vital information for your attention. Therefore before purchasing the inverter properly check all the display operating properly.
Compare the worth of inverter:
When you go for purchasing an inverter then first check the price of inverter in all high brands. All leading brands like aglow, Sukam , Whirlpool, Microtek and Videocon inverters value around Rs.3500 to Rs.6500.
. Get an Inverter, if you don’t want to get irritated with the prolonged power cuts. It saves large amount of energy and money. I Hope this blog helps you in taking decision to choose right inverter for your home.  Please share your queries if you may need the more information.
